From celebrity editorial, actor, comedian and musician promo to corporate headshots, taking a good portrait generally means connecting with your subject - often in very limited time. Experience tells you how to work creatively with light, but the ability to convey real character requires a dance between photographer and sitter. Ultimately, you must love to engage new people, whether they work in an office or perform in arenas. Along with meeting countless lovely folk, I've been fortunate enough to shoot some of my heroes over the years.... the trick to maintaining a professional air is never ask them to sign anything until AFTER the shoot!
